Become a Member
Membership in the Collaborative is free to any individuals, nonprofits, businesses and agencies representing an interest in climate mitigation and adaptation action that are located in or operate within Santa Barbara County. All members are eligible for the Steering Committee and Subcommittees, except where Conflicts of Interest may apply. All applications are reviewed and approved by the Steering Committee.

Regional and State Representation
The Santa Barbara Regional Collaborative is a member of the Central Coast Climate Collaborative (4C). As a 4C member, the Collaborative is granted access to the Alliance of Regional Collaboratives for Climate Adaptation (ARCCA). ARCCA provides resources, networking, and sharing of best practices across the various collaboratives and offers a direct connection with State agencies and legislators.

The Collaborative provides introductions to connect its members to leaders and practitioners across a range of different disciplines and sectors within our broader network. Collaborative staff also provide additional support to locate specific resources, assist with marketing and promotion efforts, and more!

Committees and Member Meetings
Members are given the opportunity to join the Collaborative’s Steering Committee and other subject-specific Committees. Each year, the Collaborative conducts biannual member meetings to facilitate valuable connections between members, identify new initiatives that can be pursued collaboratively, and to highlight local and regional efforts.

By leveraging trusted relationships with key regional and State partners, the Collaborative can help its members gather valuable input and feedback from subject-matter experts, on-the-ground practitioners, and community- based organizations for policies, plans, and resources under development.

The Collaborative provides support to its members to help identify high-level speakers for events, as well as to include member events in the Collaborative’s calendar, newsletter, and targeted promotion emails.

A growing priority for the Collaborative is to facilitate joint efforts to pursue funding for regional projects. As opportunities arise, members may lead and leverage the Collaborative in their application for funding. Additionally, the Collaborative may seek to apply for funding for the benefit of its members.

As new funding opportunities become available, the Collaborative provides coordination support and guidance to members to help identify project concepts and support grant writing efforts.

Member Organizations
The Collaborative is a free cooperative network of cross-sector members, including nonprofits, community-based organizations, academic institutions, businesses, and government agencies. Members represent local and regional interests in climate-related actions and decision-making. The County of Santa Barbara provides fiscal and administrative support. Membership is free and open to all who share our vision, and members can engage through our network events, joining a subcommittee, or serving on the Steering Committee.
