“The Collaborative offers a venue to improve community benefit projects being developed and implemented — whether it be through concept and work plan review, through the Equity Advisory and Outreach Committee, or to collaborate on grant writing and project work through subcommittees. Our Collaborative enables our region to generate revenue to actively improve our County's resilience to climate change.”
Em Johnson,
Director of Climate Programs, Community Environmental Council
“I have been involved with the Sea Level Rise subcommittee since the earliest days. The forum has been extremely valuable for exchanging information and knowledge about what is happening in the region, learning about how others are thinking about the issues and challenges, and building a stronger regional community around resilience. Two thumbs up!"
Charles Lester,
Director of the Ocean and
Coastal Policy Center, Marine Science Institute, UC Santa Barbara
“I was fortunate to be introduced to the Santa Barbara County Regional Climate Collaborative in 2021. Through the Collaborative, I’m able to help inform and empower current as well as future registered voters and others about climate action initiatives, programs, and resources in Santa Barbara County. There
are many networking channels to further inspire community involvement.”

Member Benefits
Join a Network of Climate Leaders
Members are given the opportunity to join the Collaborative’s subject-specific Committees. Each year, the Collaborative conducts biannual Network Events to facilitate valuable connections between members, identify new initiatives that can be pursued collaboratively, and to highlight local and regional efforts.
All members have access to a directory of Collaborative members, as well as participant lists from Collaborative meetings. We also can provide introductions to connect members to leaders and practitioners across a range of different disciplines and sectors within our broader network.
The Collaborative is a member of the Central Coast Climate Collaborative (4C). As a 4C member, the Collaborative is granted access to the Alliance of Regional Collaboratives for Climate Adaptation (ARCCA). ARCCA provides resources, networking, and sharing of best practices and offers a direct connection with State agencies and legislators.
Advance your Initiatives & Projects
The Collaborative provides support letters for members who are applying for grants. With a diverse and expansive membership, support letters from the Collaborative showcase strong regional and cross-sector support.
The Collaborative provides coordination support and guidance to members to help identify project concepts, develop programs and plans, and support grant writing efforts. We help members gather valuable feedback from subject-matter experts, on-the-ground practitioners, and community-based organizations for policies, plans, and resources under development.
A growing priority for the Collaborative is to facilitate joint efforts to pursue funding for regional projects. As opportunities arise, members may lead and leverage the Collaborative in their application for funding. Additionally, the Collaborative may seek to apply for funding for the benefit of its members.
