Equity Advisory and Outreach Committee
The Equity Advisory and Outreach Committee (EAOC) is a transformative approach to ensuring marginalized voices are included within public planning processes. This important committee ensures equity principles, considerations and measures are infused into regional and local plans, policies, programs and projects that will affect the region for years to come.
The EAOC has advised projects such as the County of Santa Barbara’s 2030 Climate Action Plan (CAP), Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment (CCVA) and Active Transportation Plan (ATP) Environmental Justice Element; the City of Santa Barbara’s Climate Action Plan; SBCAG’s Connected 2050 Environmental Justice Chapter. Other efforts by the other public agencies may be brought before the EAOC. Additionally, the EAOC helps drive the identification, development and implementation of future policies, programs and projects to address the communities’ needs.

Draft Community Benefits Framework
This Community Benefits Framework (Draft Framework) was created by the Equity Advisory and Outreach Committee to facilitate community-centered development and implementation of significant energy and transportation infrastructure projects (“Projects”) in Santa Barbara County. The Draft Framework provides guidance to ensure Projects reflect community wishes and generate sustainable benefits for community members. Project developers and government agencies that develop and implement Projects aligned with this Framework may find stronger community support and greater likelihood of project success.
